In my 10 years of on off study and kingdom hall ritual... I NEVER wore a skirt....HA! up their gungas!....man that must have irritated them, but they just grinned and bared it...(they did try to give me some clothes but I declined)

The J Dub Culture of Skirt-Wearing
by mummatron inthis is something that has always bothered me.
as a born-in jw i was raised as a little girl wearing skirts and dresses which is clearly quite normal in terms of gender-appropriate clothing.
however, the older i grew, the more i realised that all jw women and girls wore skirts to meetings and when out in fs, but would wear trousers in their everyday life.

TTWSYF I don't believe Jesus was just a prophet...I believe he is Gods son...but I don't believe in your religions trinity idea....how does that make me like a Jew, Mormon or Muslim?
Tec I agree...he has said two different things there...

Who is your hero?
by HintOfLime inpersonally, as a computer programmer, my hero is a bit odd perhaps - gordon ramsey.
i think gordon ramsey is awesome.
no nonsense - he tells boring, lazy, mediocre people that they are mediocre, and passionately tells them what they are doing wrong... because he wants them to do better.

What career? I'm an at home mum. Careers are flushed down the toilet when you have children and stay home to care for them.
Today I am in the mood for having Danger Mouse as my hero.....

A few notes on September 15, 2011 Watchtower, fresh off the presses!
by sd-7 inseptember 15th, 2011 watchtower, page 28, paragraph 13:.
"if a human overseer in god's organization provides you with instructions that seem extremely detailed, you might at times feel frustrated.
jehovah, however, is a perfect overseer who delegates generously and trusts his servants.

Also, just remember that you're a TOOL being USED to get the work done. Hey, I get it. Say no more!
sd-7 Brilliant!....I think that pretty much sums it up.....

Watch Out, False Prophets!
by snowbird inzechariah 13:4-6 "on the big day, the lying prophets will be publicly exposed and humiliated.
then they'll wish they'd never swindled people with their 'visions.
' no more masquerading in prophet clothes.but they'll deny they've even heard of such things: 'me, a prophet?

Does It Annoy You....
by OnTheWayOut indoes it annoy you when you post a serious topic, perhaps a question that is part of your spiritual journey, and responders post goofy insider jokes and videos unrelated to your opening post?.
-
still thinking
No, because if you ask a question, any reply is part of your journey. It might not be the answer or reply you were expecting. But maybe it was one needed. And as for unrelated videos and insider comments...who cares. Easily ignored if you don't think they apply.
Its probably more difficult when you get a reply posted that you don't agree with...now thats a challenge! (and sometimes annoying)

by Free!! ini've been watching from the sidelines for a while... reading about your experiences and it has helped me a lot!!!.
i am a 27 yo girl, i converted into a jw @ 20, at was going thru a difficult time in my life and they bastards sucked me in!!!
i did not realize how controlling things were going to get... about 1 year into my study i moved w another single sister and then baptize, looking back i think i went thru w baptism because i fell pressure by the "loving" congregation that wanted the best for me... i remember coming out of the pool and one of the brothers saying "another victim" and taking a pic of me... anyways, that wasn't the worst of it.... remember single female!!

Good luck to you Maze...hope it works out for you....I'm sure that Gods spirit has helped you with your problems..of that I have no doubt. But I'm not sure you will find his spirit residing at the kingdom hall...God bless
